Festive season family favourites – nibbles, entree and mains sorted.

The festive season can be fabulously fun – filled with feasts, family, and friends as you frolic from one get-together to another. But for the host, sometimes the party comes with a dose of stress…

At Ingham’s, we understand that feeding the crew can be tiring – coming up with meal ideas, finding good recipes (that are easy to follow, don’t have too many ingredients, and turn out well), and getting it plated on the table at just the right time. That’s why we’ve teamed up with celebrity chef Manu Feildel to create Dinner Done – a series of over 20 easy, simple, and delicious recipes.

As part of this, we’ve worked with Manu to create a special range of Always Festive recipes! So, this Christmas, take any stress out of entertaining with these quick, easy, delicious favourites designed to impress the family and guests. Here are five fun recipe ideas to get you started…

For the Main – two festive options

1. Manu’s tender Roast Turkey Buffe with Spiced Honey Glaze hits all the tasting notes. To start, thaw Ingham’s 3kg frozen Turkey Buffe (2 days in the fridge). For the Spiced Honey Glaze, you sauté 1 star anise, 1 cinnamon quill, 2 teaspoons cumin, 2 teaspoons peppercorns and 2 teaspoons coriander, then add 1 ¼ cups white wine, ½ cup honey, 75g butter and 1/3 cup orange juice. 2. Manu’s Roast Turkey with Citrus and Herb Butter is so easy! The delicious citrus and herb butter is simply finely grated orange zest, 150g butter, 1 tablespoon thyme, 2 tablespoons parsley, chopped garlic, grated lemon rind, plus salt and pepper. The bird is stuffed with orange quarters, lemon thyme, cinnamon and bay leaves, then you simply brush with oil, season and roast! Entrée Ideas

3. Manu’s Asian Cabbage Salad with Chicken Tenders and dipping sauces features Ingham’s Crumbed Chicken Tenders with a fresh and zingy salad of:  ½ Wombok cabbage, Lebanese cucumber, spring onions, radish, and avocado. Tossed in a soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, lime juice, sesame oil, sugar and sesame seed dressing. 4. Manu & Charlee’s Tempura Chicken Lettuce Cups are a fun twist on San Choy Bao. Take individual baby cos lettuce leaves and fill with a delicious vermicelli rice noodle vegie mixture, made of shredded carrot, sliced cucumber, sliced red capsicum, and spring onions dressed with rice wine vinegar, hoisin sauce, and lime juice. To Nibble

5. Manu & Charlee’s Mexibean loaded chicken chippees are perfect as a sharing-dish for guests to help themselves. Simply cook Ingham’s Chicken Chippees, top with kidney beans, corn kernels, chunky Mexican salsa, then scatter with grated cheese. Bake for 4-5 minutes then scatter with halved cherry tomatoes and top with coriander. Serve guacamole an d sour cream on the side.
