Your opportunity to join our team in our National Laboratory at Lytton!

Join us in our NATA accredited laboratory in Lytton where you will work with a group of dedicated professionals undertaking routine sampling and testing of food products and supporting with other tasks across the lab.

This position will involve occasional Saturday work, working 4 hours a day around 6 times p.a. so applicants should be flexible and able to support as required.

Key responsibilities:

  • Media preparation and Media quality assessment (daily and new batch)
  • Use reference cultures and assist with working cultures
  • Receive samples and deliveries to the Laboratory
  • Maintain GLP practices (including aseptic technique, completing logbooks, assisting in CAPAs, RCA’s)
  • Perform routine testing (Microbiology) and report results to the Laboratory Manager (or delegate) as required
  • Ordering/Purchasing of stock for the Laboratory
  • Ensure equipment and workspace is maintained and regularly kept clean

Key requirements:

  • Tertiary education preferred in Science or Microbiology
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar fast paced and high-volume testing role
  • Superior communication skills and capability to work with a range of stakeholders including the Lab team, QA, Operations and other departments cross-functionally
  • Knowledge of GLP/GMP
  • NATA laboratory experience preferred but not essential
  • Sound knowledge of aseptic technique
  • A strong lens for continuous improvement and confidence to challenge the status quo in order to drive improvement
