Maintenance Fitter | Qualified & Apprentice Roles


Purpose of the Role

Ingham’s is a fast-paced stable company that offers a diverse working environment, where the safety of our people always comes first. In our Maintenance division we are hard-working team players and problem solvers who are passionate about improving efficiencies and delivering the highest quality product to our customers.

Hours of work

Due to recent production increases, we have the following vacancies in our Maintenance team at the Somerville site:

  • one qualified Maintenance Fitter on day shift (5am-1pm)
  • two qualified Maintenance Fitters on afternoon shift (1 pm – 9 pm)
  • one apprentice Maintenance Fitter for day shift (5am-1pm)

Shifts are Monday – Friday with the opportunity for weekend work and overtime as the need arises.


  • Attending to repairs, breakdowns and maintenance to production machinery
  • Proactive & preventative maintenance to plant equipment
  • Working autonomously and within a team environment
  • Ensuring timely repair of equipment and plant requirements are met
  • Compliance to safety procedures in order that the safety of our workers is maintained to the highest degree
  • Sustain and drive quality solutions in an HACCP environment
  • Actively seek opportunities to improve operations performance whilst improving system reliability and reducing overall downtime

Skills Required

  • Australian mechanical trade qualification
  • Industrial experience in installations, fault finding, repairs and maintenance on manufacturing equipment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to problem solve and chase issues to sustained solutions
  • Strong knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic operated systems
  • Experience in a high volume manufacturing industry
  • Experience with Maximo CMMS would be an advantage
  • Skills working in a collaborative team working environment
  • Have a proactive approach
