Your opportunity to join our team

This position services the organisation by leading the team to support our Further processing operations. As the Leading Hand, your engaging and inspiring leadership skills will be imperative to the success of your team, and the business overall.

This is a hands-on role where you will not be frightened to roll up your sleeves and get on the tools working with the packing team. You will equally to act as the liaison between the leaders and the plant floor, actively promoting and fostering teamwork and positivity in alignment with company values and objectives. Attitude is everything in today’s workplace, and it begins at the top!

Hours worked:

This Leading hand positions with operate on an afternoon roster in our Packing department.

Monday to Friday – 3.30 pm to 1.00 am

Daily Tasks

  • Coach and develop the manufacturing team to ensure they have the capability to meet the performance goals.
  • Report on operations and general work planning.
  • Establish, communicate, and monitor safety standards and lead corrective action in areas of high risk.
  • Execute the site’s plan with ongoing measurement of performance, achievement of scheduled deadlines, and allocating resources appropriately.
  • Liaising with your Supervisor and identifying and managing Food Safety & Quality issues, hazards, and risks.

You will bring to this role

  • Experience in a high-volume manufacturing industry in a Team Leader position.
  • Experience in food manufacturing and/or the FMCG industry will be highly regarded.
  • Ability to work in a cold environment.
  • Proven communication and leadership skills to lead a team.
  • Drive the continual improvement of both processes and people.
  • A desire to build team capability through training and transfer of knowledge.
  • Computer literate and comfortable using the MS suite.
  • Experience managing information related to raw materials, product-in-process, packaging materials, finished products, or packed stock.
  • Following and maintaining GMP Compliance.
  • Experience driving positive cultural change.
  • “Can do” attitude.
