6 Month Contract - Laboratory Technician

Lytton, Queensland


Join us at Ingham’s on a six month contract as a Laboratory Technician and you will play a key role in ensuring that Ingham’s performs routine and non routine technical testing on our food and feed products. This role is based at our new state of the art facility in Lytton, QLD.

The Laboratory team consisting of Microbiology and Chemistry sections are motivated, passionate and hard working employees who play a key role in ensuring Ingham’s Nourish its people and partners. Ingham’s has a culture that is down-to-earth, where being open, honest and collaborative comes naturally. Personal Protective equipment is provided for all employees at the site, however please note our facility does test on allergens and listeria.

In the role, you will be responsible for:

  • Assisting in the day to day operations within the laboratory team (supporting chemistry and Microbiology)
  • Undertaking a wide range of routine physical and chemical testing procedures on animal feeds and ingredients
  • Assisting in method development and problem solving initiatives with procedures and equipment
  • Reporting and communicating laboratory results to the Nutrition team
  • Participating in site WHS programs

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Chemistry or Microbiology
  • Desire to work in a laboratory environment with an interest in the food industry
  • Confident communicating using scientific language and experience analysing scientific results
  • Thrive on problem solving and driven by results
  • Enjoys being open and honest and working as part of a team to achieve results
  • A commitment to continuous improvement and accountability
  • Great organisational skills and an eye for detail
  • Be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Excel

  • We know it might seem a little different but don’t be nervous. Our key aim is for you to show the hiring manager a little more about yourself and we think video is a great way to do so

An opportunity for you to see the environment you will be working in and meet some of our team

Step 3: Background checks:

This includes: references, drug & alcohol testing and a medical examination

Step 4: Offer paperwork:

The offer paperwork can be completed online either on a computer or via a smartphone
