“I don’t feel like a number,” says Emma Gordon. “Ingham’s is a large business, but I still feel appreciated.”
Emma joined Inghams in October and was promoted just eight months later to Operations Manager at the distribution centre, Prestons. She applied for the promotion after already stepping up into the role.

She joined us from a major retailer, managing their biggest cold chain in Australia, from receiving to dispatch. She was also at university, studying a Bachelor of Business (Logistics and Supply Chain Management). “I promised myself, if I didn’t progress after my degree, I would leave. It was a hard decision, but I wanted a challenge.”
And that’s what she got at Inghams. As a supervisor initially, the role had more responsibility across the support functions, such as planning and safety. “I thrived doing this, and I learnt lots.
“I enjoy the fast pace that comes with use by dates, and it was interesting to learn the whole process around our animals.
And because she enjoys a challenge, she’s back at university studying for an MBA, with Inghams’ assistance. “I’ve been blown away from all the support.
“Ingham’s is a good place to work, and I tell everyone this,” she said.
